Works great for riding around the golf course. Love the mesh mouth piece. It allows the protection from the wind and cold while still allowing me to breath easily.

Now that it's FINALLY cold enough to have properly tested the 6823 balaclava here's what I think. The 6823 is without a doubt a nice product. It's soft and extends down your neck enough to keep drafts out and lock the heat in. However, the hinging aspect which makes it nice and easy to regulate your temperature by being able to fold the top down yet still keep your face covered requires a lot of tweaking and adjusting and hassle to get comfortable. I also found that it was definitely uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time as it puts a lot of pressure on my nose. Maybe I've got a huge nose, who nose..er...knows. I would love to make this product a fixture in my cold weather gear bag and provide a follow-up long term review but I just can't get over how uncomfortable it is on my nose. I think I'll be trying out a different ergodyne balaclava for my long term use and keep this one as a backup or a short term use bit of "home gear".

Thanks for the feedback, Dan! Sorry the product didn’t fit. Because everyone’s noggin is different, we created eight different balaclava models, each with unique designs and features. We would suggest you try the N-Ferno 6825 Nomex FR Balaclava. It will have the soft extended neck to block cold but doesn’t have the hinged design which may provide a better fit for your head. Also, working as an electrician, FR protection is important – the 6825 will provide the arc protection you need when using on the jobsite.

The balaclava is extremely warm while working outside. It blocks wind extremely well except for the went hole. It does let cold air through especially if driving an open vehicle. Overall it is comfortable and preformed well through the rough winter.
