St. Paul, Minn. (June 4, 2014) – St. Paul, MN-based safety manufacturer, Ergodyne, is partnering with Argo Nepal Social Organization (ANSO) to build toilets for schools in remote villages of Nepal – and throughout the world. The inauguration of the first official Tenacious Toilet™ was held on May 16, 2014 at the Shree Manakamana School in the Tanahun district of Nepal.

“A sanitary facility is important in every school for the quality of teaching and learning,” said Lokman Shrestha, Director of ANSO. “Our aim is to make education better in a healthy environment, and this well designed toilet will be helpful in meeting that goal. We thank Ergodyne for their contribution to the Toilet project as well as the local community, teachers, and parents for their participation.”

The Shree Manakamana is a community school in Nepal meaning it is owned and funded by the students’ parents. In order to maintain the 315 student and 17 teacher school, fees must remain low – so low in fact they had no money to build a proper toilet. This location is the first of the Toilet projects for Ergodyne to sponsor. Being dubbed the “Tenacious Toilet,” Ergodyne now aims to sponsor the construction of at least one Tenacious Toilet™ per year to help provide healthy environments for children to learn.

“Of the many charitable activities we are involved with each year, this one is pretty special,” said Tom Votel, president and CEO, Ergodyne. “Helping bring something as basic as a toilet – something that is often taken for granted – to these children is an important mission that we are very proud to be a part of.”
